      Has she paid her taxes?

If I skipped paying tax I owed, would I get rewarded with a cabinet position?

*Starmer said in an interview with The Observer that he missed Rayner and said misogyny had played a part in the level of criticism she and Chancellor Rachel Reeves have received in recent months.* – Bullshit. If a man had avoided taxes, he’d be just as criticised and if a man had allowed so many leaks of the budget, he’d have been sacked.

    2. Misogyny has very little, if anything, to do with it. I don’t care what sex an MP is, whether they’re black or white or white kind of upbringing they had: I care about whether or not they are good at their jobs, and at the moment most Labour MPs, especially Starmer and Reeves, are not.

Rayner is see as representing the left of the party so its better to have her „in the tent pissing out than out the tent pissing in“ Lyndon B Johnson. It also helps see off any Miliband challenge as Rayner quite fancies that job herself.

    4. Misogyny had nothing to do with it.

It was about her being a „scary“ charismatic lefty who can whip their asses, in a world of old-money and russian-money media.

    5. Arrogant and offensive. Can you imagine having to work with these truth twisters?

Bringing back someone tagged as a tax dodger, in a government telling the working poor to pay more

Isn’t what I call good optics

There’s only one man in the country with his credibility falling quicker than starmers

But I’ll keep my winging about arne slot out of this sub

Labour really are blind to how their decsions will be played out in hostile media

Again and again and again they keep putting rakes in front of them

    7. To be honest it was a complex case, but still she shouldn’t return.

That said I’m pretty fucked off that I need to pay stamp duty as a first time buyer because we want to buy in London and there is a cliff edge from above 500k. So I’m unsympathetic

    8. Why do they keep using sexism as a defence? Rachel reeves using mansplaining and now this. As a women I find it unbearable that they keep making these inept decisions and then cry sexism to shut down any criticism. Have never known a cabinet like it

      Here we go!
Return to cabinet bingo card December ’25

      She’s been on a journey…
      She’s reflected on her actions…
      Lessons have been learned…
      Mistakes were made…
Points finger at someone else that did a bad thing…

The whole system is so weird. I vote for my least worst option, but why resign when we all know it’s theatre.

Peter Mandelson did it twice, for a dodgy loan and for helping a business man get a passport. Came back both times.  https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2001/jan/21/uk.labour

David Laws broke fiscal rules and came back a minister – https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-13347619 and back https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/cabinet-reshuffle-david-laws-back-as-a-minister-after-expenses-scandal-8104782.html

    11. Dead government. If this chancing cow can waltz straight back in I might finally actually be done with Labour. Cavalcade of ineptitude.

    12. She is damaged goods, I knew she was a fraud before she got caught for this but apparently a lot of people didn’t.

Quite why you’d bring her back in is beyond me though. There’s people in the party who are deserving of a shot and who haven’t trashed their own reputation yet.

    13. They’ll just say they inherited something or other and blame someone else.

      Fuck Labour.

    14. So firing (well, pressuring to resign I suppose technically) her was entirely political theatre and not actually any kind of moral position against breaking tax rules? Well colour me surprised …

notice how all the right wing controlled media call him Starmer and not Prime Minister, can’t remember them doing the same to Boris.Liz or Rishi.

    16. The political instincts are horrible with the PM. The communications are just as bad.

FFS every part of our media in the UK is right wing and we have a shitty ‘leader’ with zero branding understanding and lacking communications skills.

As a ‘Sir’ and the prosecutor for many years you’d have thought he’d be far greater at comms and PMQS.

    17. It is beyond belief how absolutely in thrall the entire Labour Party is to a woman with no qualifications, no commercial experience and who had no real accomplishments or policy platform in her short ministerial career. A ministerial position she was sacked from for tax dodging.

Beyond belief that Labour MPs love her so much that she’s seriously talked of as a PM candidate. She’s shown absolutely no acumen for the role

It’s reminiscent of how Tory MPs and members continued to be in love with Boris Johnson during and after his resignation for no apparent reason

Starmer is a weird one. I can’t remember ever seeing a leader appear so little in front of the camera

How long before the tabloids scream and shout while ignoring the fact the same thing happened to Suella Braverman’s over a more serious security breach.

    20. I’m starting to think Starmer is a reform plant that’s been sent to take down Labour.

Highlighting incompetence and corruption is not misogyny, Sir Kier. Giving them a pass because they’re women is misogyny.

They really are blind to the electorate or arrogant. It’s difficult to tell.
