This was always the plan. A recall to the “no black in the Union Jack” campaign, get idiots sticking up flags and watch the division spread.
You could see it when the far right went after Gary Neville for saying this was their plan all along.

Good God, really? Anybody would think that was the intention …

There was a rise in flags being raised after decades of racist incidents in the form of racially motivated rape gangs.
None of this started with flags being raised, the raising of flags was a reaction.

The flag flying and the „racial incidents“ are both a reaction to large numbers of unwanted (and often illegal) immigrants being dumped in places like this, imo. Certainly, flags don’t cause racial incidents. Demographic changes that make the previously majority group feel threatened in their culture cause racial incidents, arguably including flag flying (though I’m really uncomfortable with the left’s attempts to give the England and Union flags to the racists and disown them, those flags represent us all).
Fix immigration, especially people arriving on boats, and you’ll see overt racism and over-the-top displays of national identity fade away.

If the national flag of the country they reside in causes such issues. They can kindly go somewhere else. No other country does such self flagilation that apparently the countrys own flag can be seen as a symbol of hate.
