We probably won’t have elections much longer anyway.
Also concerning the prominence of ignorance the past few elections. I’m thinking that lower overall ignorance may result in a lesser ability of AI to sway elections.
Like social media wasn’t doing that already…
AI used in social media recommendations and in particular YouTube and Facebook had immediate (within a year) global political consequences over a decade ago…

That was four years ago when Twitter AI convinced American liberals to push President Biden out. They all told me, even here on /r/technology, that Trump would never win again and our elections are very secure.
We passed the tipping point years ago and social media has ruined discourse and turned politics into a team sport based on moral character.
When neither party runs on policy does it even matter?
Why aren’t they worried that corporate media does the same thing?
