Let’s take small steps in the right direction.

Support independent journalism in your countries, vote in elections, have the courage to speak out against populists who promise simple solutions to complex problems and replace discussions of difficult issues with nonsense from the US about woke/culture wars (which have very little impact on our daily lives)

The fact that EU is being attacked from almost all corners, means we have a good thing going. Certain groups want it destroyed for the sake of money. I hope people won’t fall for the propaganda that will be spewed across social media the next few years.

Over the last 20 years, a lot of Europe has changed to the point where it’s barely recognizable, and every year the situation seems to get worse. The way I see it, the relationship between the U.S. and Europe has always been a bit lopsided. America has been the one providing security, stability, and the hard power that allowed Europe to live comfortably, while Europe focused on quality-of-life perks and social benefits because it never had to worry about the heavy responsibilities.

And instead of appreciating that, many European leaders spent decades criticizing the U.S. and acting like they were above it all.

Now that the U.S. isn’t automatically willing to carry the entire burden anymore, Europe is suddenly realizing how unprepared it is to deal with its own defense, energy security, and geopolitical reality. Rather than look inward at its own decisions—underinvesting in defense, relying on Russian energy, being overly trusting with China—Europe often tries to redirect blame back at the U.S.

Some countries have even tried to pivot toward China, only to find out that these “new partners” come with their own risks and aren’t exactly aligned with European values. Slowly, Europe is being forced to face the uncomfortable truth: a lot of the current situation is the result of its own choices, and responsibility can’t be outsourced forever.

Trump may be a jerk, but he’s not wrong about the core issue. Anyone in Europe who doesn’t see the seriousness of what’s happening is being naive. Ignoring the reality isn’t going to fix decades of strategic complacency.

Americans need to understand and act like the MAGA movement and government is the modern version of the Nazis. It’s played out more or less like the Nazis did in the 1930’s. They are overtly imperialist and are bent on global domination. They are committed to creating a network of white supremacist countries that are all subservient to America and that “lesser” brown, black and Asian countries are meant to provide cheap labour and resources to their white masters. This cable basically said this without any attempt to hide their intent.

As a brown Canadian, I’m terrified. Everyone here is hung up on the “51st state” talk and tariffs. But I believe it goes beyond that. Not only would Canada be either part of the USA in this future or a “whites only” vassal country much like they are aggressively using ICE to engineer the US into as quickly as possible.

The time to fight is NOW. It is now the time to pull out all the stops. Because of this isn’t stopped right the fuck now, it’s over. The gas chambers and labour camps for people like me and my kids are coming. Your civil rights are gone and you will live to serve a small handful of elites hell bent on white supremacy, apocalyptic religious prophecies and just plain greed.

I’m seeing a lot of snarky internet comments in threads like these. But this is a fucking red alert. This is deadly serious. Let’s not treat it as a joke.

As an Aussie I really hope we align more with the EU over the coming years and increasingly cut ties with the U.S.
