Als Begründung für den Gesetzentwurf gaben sie an, dass das Gesetz dafür kritisiert wurde, dass es das Gesetz zur Wahrung der öffentlichen Sicherheit der japanischen Kaiserherrschaft zum Zeitpunkt seiner Verabschiedung übernimmt, die Gedankenfreiheit einschränkt, als Instrument zur Unterdrückung politischer Opposition und der Zivilgesellschaft eingesetzt wird und wiederholt zu Menschenrechtsverletzungen und ideologischer Unterdrückung führt.“

Being a strong advocate for freedom of speech and the press, I support abolishing the National Security Act, but only if severe penalties for *direct* acts of espionage are enacted in separate legislation.
Remove clauses related to restricting freedom of speech and censoring media, but abolishing the act as a whole I’m against. We cannot have people who espionage or sabotage for state opponents go free, and we don’t want people to act or speak on their behalf either.
It’s a good thing to remove it. North Korea is not an enemy of South Korea and they will not seek to undermine us as long as we distance ourselves from the US (which we should be doing).
How long has it been since abortion was decriminalised? We *still* don’t have follow-up legislation that would actually provide the legal basis for it.
The NSA has been one of those ideological goals for the old democratisation era politicians for decades. I’m not going to speak for or against that here, but I do want to warn that without subsequent bills ready to go this is not the way to do it regardless of your political leaning.
