Seems like such an odd threat. If you build a pipeline 4500km away from us we’re leaving! So it is easier for you to build said pipeline.

Guilbeault is going to get expelled from the LPC if he doesn’t stop running his mouth to any media organization that will listen.

Why do Canadians want to be a petrostate like Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Venezuela, and the United States so badly? All of these countries are *incredibly* politically unstable.

We are already a top 5 producer and we should be extending every effort to diversify.

The feds should be working on fueling a green energy transition, rather than further stacking all of Canada’s fuel in figurative and literal fossils. If Quebec separates, can they take all of the rational Canadians who listen to scientists with them?

    4. Not at all.
As a Quebecer, I am much happier to live in a Canada that could be more resilient than in the weak Canada or an „independent“ Quebec who would simply be captured by the US.

If Quebecers only knew their own history, they would know that if Quebec hasn’t been given to Britain by France, we would have been eradicated by the Yankees.

We can’t go a day without this guy creating inflammatory headlines that have to be pissing the PMO off. At this point, I think Carney would be best served by turfing him from caucus and letting him go lead the Green Party or just illegally climb some more towers.

    6. Maybe its time for the rest of Canada to make it clear to Quebec that Canada doesn’t revolve around just what Quebec wants.

      Uh no.

Quebec separatism is only at 37% in the latest polls and has been hovering around that amount for the past couple of years, with minor fluctuations. The media has been talking about it because the PQ is first in the polls (for unrelated reasons, mostly frustration with the CAQ due to their mismanagement of Quebec) and they’re trying to will it into existence.

According to the latest Abacus poll, a plurality of Quebec *actually supports the MOU*, but most don’t give a shit since it’s so far away. Quebecers care about the environment more than the rest of canqda, but most of us are realistic and **way** more moderate than Guilbeault.

Honestly, the Liberals never should have accepted an activist like Guilbeault.
