Nachdem ich von LA nach SF und zurück gefahren bin (im Grunde die Länge des Staates), finde ich den Größenvergleich Kaliforniens mit mehreren afrikanischen Ländern einfach faszinierend. Am überraschendsten waren meiner Meinung nach Tansania und Sambia.

Yea… Africa is hilariously gigantic… from the tip of Morocco to the tip of South Africa is nearly the same length as Eurasia from Portugal to far far Eastern Russia. So quite naturally, its countries are gigantic as well in comparison to the “big” state of California.
California is a bit banana shaped, so this works for Reddit.

I did not notice that the California is quite small compared to many African countries.
As an european, my main takeaway here is that California is fucking *huge*
California has a similar population, area, climate, orography as Morocco

Wow and tiny California has a gdp bigger than all of them put together.
And California’s economy alone is 1/3 greater than all of their economies together. Or 40 million people vs 1.4 billion.
