It’s a rather interesting story here, and fairly serious too, but I can’t help but laugh at the name „Rory McTory“. It seems to be a placeholder name that was used back in 2020-2021 for website templates, before they moved to a new website system. Perhaps there was an Admin account tied to that system that wasn’t removed.
I wonder what the endgame for the hacker is here, certainly some of the material is usable for blackmail, but candidates don’t usually disclose that stuff fully. Identity theft seems the most likely, I’d say.
