Herzlichen Glückwunsch Finnland!

Thank you! We are very glad we can celebrate yet another year being independent. My grandparents paid a huge price for it, having to leave their homes in Finnish Karelia and settle in other parts of Finland but they did it because the knew what being under russian rule would have been like.

Congrats, Finland! Hope everyone’s lighting the blue-and-white candles and bingeing those wonderfully gloomy Finnish films. If you’ve never visited Helsinki in winter, highly recommend the cozy café culture.
