Please help me understand this: as a New Englander, our earliest sunset is earlier than people living in New Brunswick. Would New England have the same sunset time if we moved time zones or ended daylight savings?

These evenings are when I’m happy to be in Atlanta. Our earliest sunset is 5:28.
(On the other hand our latest sunrise is pushing 8:00 which is frankly bullshit for our latitude.)

Good news for everyone that hates early sunsets… the earliest sunset is coming up for most of North America in the next day or two. After that, even though the nights still get longer the sun starts staying up later.
