Now listen, I know a lot of people get irrational when it comes to Canada’s indigenous people. It’s flat out annoying at best, and downright hateful at worst.
But this publication *literally* states in no uncertain terms, in black and white, that the government views us as two classes of citizens, and that First Nations are more important than any other Canadian citizen.
And I’m not all “hur fur, they don’t like us ‘regular’ Canadians (code for white European descent peoples)”, no, this is literally an admission that it doesn’t matter what kind of Canadian you are.
You can be an immigrant, black, white, Asian, etc. they *admit* that the classification of these rifles is dependent on Canada’s First Nations communities, and the impact it will have on them.
Let that sink in.
A gun is either too dangerous to own, or it isn’t, based on the impact it will have to indigenous communities.
Square that circle, please, I’d love to hear anyone explain how this isn’t explicitly racist, *and* (not *or*) identity politics on full display.

Every year since Portapique, Poly starts tap dancing on graves to increase the attacks on law-abiding gun owners simply because they hate them, and the government agrees because it’s to their benefit to have a disarmed populace, especially among Indigenous peoples. I wonder what the punishment for following the rules will be this year?

Anyone want to guess that they are going to ban the SKS and give the indigenous an exception / grandfathering?
This will make any sane person furious because the SKS is by no means a traditional hunting tool.
They do this, knowing the First Nations will protest and not follow this ban.
This kind of pandering and two tier nonsense *feels* like it should be illegal.
Yet non-indigenous Canadians will roll over and take this. Well. Everyone except for Alberta. And good for them. I wish Ontario had the same gumption.

More two-tiered justice. I suppose that the statistics prove that indigenous people commit far less violent crime than other races. Oh no? So you’re vote-buying in two groups of people now, indigenous and urban Quebecers, while trampling on the privileges of everyone else for a program that will do nothing for public safety and cost the tax payers millions. I’m no PP fan fanboy, but the pendulum has to swing to overcorrect the damage already done by the Liberals so they get the message loud and clear.

[The tweet was hilarious too, claiming that there’s only 14 SKS rifles in Canada.](https://x.com/AndrewLawton/status/1996331867902001321)
If that were true, I’d really regret selling mine just before COVID lol.
But here’s the kicker, if you read the actual government publication your blood *should* boil.
[I’ll link it here.](https://www.canada.ca/en/public-safety-canada/news/2025/12/statement-by-minister-anandasangaree-on-strengthening-firearms-regime.html)
