Yeah we know why they’re planning to restrict party names they’re probably terrified of the impending rebrand of the Alberta party into the PCs
There’s an obvious conflict of interest when a ruling party is in charge of election rules. That’s why they shouldn’t be in charge. The Smith government is hilariously proving this point again and again.
From what I can think of, there aren’t any parties in any province or at the federal level that have names similar to or contain words like Liberal, Conservative, Democratic. Only one Conservative, Liberal and New Democratic Party per province and at the federal level.
