So many major companies in the US don’t *do* anything but raise prices on shit people already have. Subscription models are the death of advancement

When was the last time they made a good decision? Seems like they are trying to self destruct.

Inflation has hit both the 1s and the 0s that go into this software.

You can still use old Office desktop versions like 2013. To get the old files, enter the 2013 product key when you go to download 365 on Microsoft’s website. They don’t have a direct link to the installation files. You should probably keep the old file as well in case they get rid of it.

I pay for the family 365 subscription and it continually surprises me how buggy outlook is. How can you not do emails right?
Feel like I just keep the service for the 1tb cloud drive and I’ve been looking at NAS lately to dump it all together.

No one will buy any of Microsoft’s AI shit so they’re just having to jack up in price gouge all of their existing customers

> In the last year, we released more than 1,100 features across Microsoft 365, Security, Copilot, and SharePoint.
This is an insane amount of features. Of course your quality is going to be dog shit when you have your dev teams running 18 hour sprints 😒

Obviously has nothing to do with the AI sales goals being missed by a massive mile.. so why not squeeze everyone else?!
Also I love the comment about increased pressure from Google’s “office” apps… anyone who’s used them in a larger SMB or Enterprise environment knows there is a substantial performance and feature gap.
We all know it’s because AI is a bubble, it’s always been a bubble and they see the writing on the wall.

Line must go up. I was gonna ask if they tried the other part of the equation, layoffs, but we know they’ve done that 10s of thousands of times
We know they can’t make it go up by making it better and attracting more customers

Best decision I’ve made was buying a laptop that didn’t come with Windows pre-installed. Made the switch to Linux and Libreoffice and never looked back. I get this doesn’t work for everyone but it has been great for me.

Microsoft sucks, but I really don’t know how I’m supposed to get upset about a $3 increase on a $36 or $57 enterprise license while inflation is up 25% since the last time they changed pries.
The “33%” increase is from $2.25 to $3. If your business can’t deal with an extra 75 cents monthly labor cost, that’s an employee you probably should have.

Reminder that you can get the 7.99 price by dropping Copilot from the monthly sub… lets see what it goes up to.
