I’d say they didn’t just try. They succeeded. Her premiership will be a pub trivia question and she was the first former PM to loose her seat in almost 100 years.

It must be odd for her to acknowledge the reality that she totally screwed up as Prime Minister and will now go down as a footnote in history as our worst ever PM who ruined herself within 6 weeks… so I kinda see why she chooses to just lie to herself about how there’s some „deep state“ responsible for it because the truth is too hard to face.

Her utter stupidity effectively bankrupted a few friends of mine. Remember that the Mail PRAISED her budget.
The deep state didn’t destroy her. The bond market (the government debt market) did.
They listened to her plans, decided they would want a very high rate to fund that plan because they didn’t think it would work out, and set a high rate to lend the government money.
That destroyed her because it was clear government couldn’t afford the money to deliver her plan.
It’s so weird seeing former prime ministers and other high gov people complain about the state of the economy that they contributed to.
