The law has been backed by Berry and would have made it easier for women to receive medical treatments to address the effects of menopause, per Politico Pro.

* “But that’s okay, because he’s not going to be governor forever, and with the way he has overlooked women, half the population, by devaluing us in midlife, he probably should not be our next president either,“ she continued, drawing an audible reaction from the crowd. „Just saying.“
I know he is the front runner at the moment but I haven’t liked Newsom for some time. The French Laundry during covid, bulldozing skate parks, dodging any responsibility for tons of governmental lapses, most recently the LA fires. The guy strikes me as sleazy and utterly untrustworthy.
If he ends up winning the primary so be it but the democrats have a bunch of better, less tainted candidates on their bench, and I hope one of them rises above this Patrick Bateman looking jerk. We have a long time between now and 2028 and Newsom has too much baggage. I’m with Berry on this one.

Newsom used to be married to Kimberly Guilfoyle. That’s as red a flag as they come. He mostly says the right things and I enjoy trolling Trump and all but I remain deeply suspicious.

I much prefer JB Pritzker over Gavin for President. Dude has balanced the Illinois budget like 7 years in a row or something, and advocates for everybody, and raised the credit rating of the state 10x under his terms. Before he was governor, Illinois had its credit rating downgrade 24x in 15 years. Shit was a disaster. Shit might still be a future disaster if they dont find a solution to the pension crisis.

Gavin Newsom is a corporate liberal who doesn’t care about lgbtq+ people either. He is savvy at keeping his name in the news and trolling republicans, but he is not the kind of person that will change the democratic party for the better. A vote for him for president is a vote for more of the same: weak liberalism that slides to the right anyway.
We need a democratic candidate who actually represents our values. We are not going to get anywhere by compromising on our values.
