Glad we all understand each other. We have to clean up the Ds, or there is no point in voting out the Rs. Otherwise we’ll just wind up back where we started. Neoliberal apathy and corruption is ABSOLUTELY part of the reason Trump got elected.

When people demanded Democrats to fight. They didn’t ask Hakeem to beg for pardons from Trump.

    3. Absolutely. I believe that every politician should face a primary, regardless of party. To that point, enact campaign finance/funding laws that make every office available to ALL qualified individuals.

For the first few times I saw him, I thought he would be the next Obama. Now, I think he’s the next Schumer.

    5. All of them that failed to meet the moment of pushing back against fascism should be primaried.

    6. Any politician who is in favor of pardons for corrupt politicians needs to go.

If any of us were are useless at our jobs as Hakeem Jeffries is at his, we’d have been fired so fucking fast.

Get this dead eyed waste of space out of here.

    8. Or the center. Or the exact point point on the spectrum.

Hakeem has less charisma than JD Vance’s couch

    9. Why does he always look doped up in every picture, video and interview?

He’s got resting corpse face, which is bad, but worse is that he talks like a bloody corpse, and can’t emote to save his fucking life.

Even here, with some pathetic attempt at a hype picture with a baseball bat, and he looks like someone jammed him with a paralytic.

Every time I see him speak, I wonder why and how he got elected…. my dogs wet turd has more charisma.

Everyone should face a primary in every seat. It’s healthy for a party to have them. Even if you like your representatives. Primaries give you a chance to hold reps accountable and reassess the values you want representing you

The shit today cost him any support id give him.  You never have to hand it to piss boy under any circumstances

    13. Not a profound statement. Primaries are a healthy part of representative democracy.

They can but it’s going to be a massive waste of resources. There is no way his district doesn’t vote for him (and it would be stupid not to as if he loses somehow there district would become substantially less relevant)

I know, let’s spend a shit ton of money on feel-good primaries and infighting while literal Nazis fill their war chests! Maybe we can “Bernie or bust” ourselves even deeper into this fucking hole!

I mean look, we saved Gaza in 2024 with our protest votes!

Jfc, I’m shocked this wasn’t the jacobin.

Yesterday Trump told Dana Bash that “affordability” was a made up word, a Democrat hoax, something nobody cares about.

The democrats should have immediately held a press conference on the Capitol Hill steps and own the word “affordability”. They could have said they, in fact, DO care about affordability, and the GOP clearly doesn’t. They could have pointed to rising costs everywhere, and put that on Trump. They could have pointed out that things are so bad Trump won’t release the jobs numbers or GDP report, and if he does, it will be faker than his MRI report.

What did democrats do instead? Fuck all. Nothing. Trump gave them a gift and they were too stupid to capitalize on it.

      Primary Jeffries.

    17. Hakeem Jefferies hasn’t supported the Congress stock trading ban but more than 100 members have (80 Dem, 22 Rep).

    18. Our system falls apart without primaries.

Primary everyone. Be very active in primaries.

This guy reminds me of generic diet soda. Schumer reminds me of on brand soda that has been sitting out and gotten flat and warm and needs to be tossed.

Lots of unappealing soda here people.

The dnc should primary everyone, everytime.

It’s a great way to vet upcoming candidates, give them campaigning practice, and build their public profiles. Even if the decision is a forgone conclusion, it still strengthens the party to go through the motions

The reason why Mamdani and AOC told Chi Ossé to not primary Jeffries is because Jeffries is popular in his district. As of now, Jeffries has a 50-point lead over Ossé. On top of that, NY-8 is huge, and within that district there is a considerable Jewish population. Ossé has to appeal to Marine Park, Bergen Beach, Howard Beach, Sea Gate, and Mill Basin.

    22. The establishment isn’t even talking about ICE.  A 7 year old boy was abducted, you don’t see the Dems talking about it.  And I’m not going to vote for anyone who isn’t very outspoken about abolishing ice.  If that position is unelectable than the solution certainly isn’t voting

    23. If I lived in NYC I would wait to declare my support for Hakeem Jeffries until exactly 119 days AFTER he wins his own primary.

That’s the same amount of time Jeffries waited to support Mamdani after his Primary win.

Way to be a leader of the Democratic Party.

    24. Known_Week_158 on

Primarily every moderate who doesn’t march in lock step with progressives and you’ll start to wonder why moderates don’t vote for the Democrats, especially in swing states what you need them to win.

    25. LostMyInvite on

Primary everyone. If they can’t get shit done they need to get out of the way.

    26. Are elected representatives not beholden to their constituents? Shouldn’t there be at least 1 primary challenger each cycle as part of a healthy government?

    27. bobisinthehouse on

Anyone can be primaried, you just won’t get any support or money from your party…so unless you have a lot of monor can get it your up against a rough uphill road. Campaign finance reform should set a set amount that can be spent on anyone’s Campaign to make it a level playing field.

    28. VillageTrue2443 on

The “left” should concentrate on getting any dem elected in 2026. If it ain’t their first choice, suck it up and get even a shitty dem elected. You’ll never get your preferred candidate elected until Dems have a significant and long standing majority

    29. Every rep should have at least one primary opponent every single election.

    30. No_Size9475 on

Honestly most of them should be primaried but actual leftist candidates. Force them to say why they don’t want to increase minimum wage, etc.

    31. Stunning_Ad3273 on

One of the most ineffectual men for the moment. I was like sit down on the steps of Congress for some kind of like social media action or something all I can think is “ doing nothing at least let’s just pretend you’re doing something substatial behind the scenes“

    32. Frankly, every politician should always be primaried. Even if you like them, I see no problem with them regularly answering to the voters. If they’re as good as we think they, they should survive a primary with ease. If they’re as good as we think they are and they lose the primary, then theoretically that means someone better is now up to bat. It seems an exercise in laziness and comfort to not primary people just because they aren’t awful…
