This one’s got a fairly slim chance of actually triggering a by-election, since it needs 12k signatures from residents of the riding, which has a population of around 50k people. Getting about 1 in 4 residents to sign it will be one hell of a task, but I do hope they’re successful.

When these have happened in BC, the politicians have put in a lot of effort campaigning against the petition. If Smith feels a need to do that, it’s an effective denial-of-service attack if nothing else.
