I don’t have a computer. I’m not a Linux user. I’m going to get a computer. I still want to game. If Microsoft doesn’t release a version of Windows in the future that’s stripped down of all the crap they’ve added in, then it’s going to push me to Linux because of what Steam is doing, or a Mac, again, because of what Steam and Apple is doing with ARM. I think we’re going to see a lot of ARM gaming in my lifetime.

Microsoft is firing a belt fed machine gun at their feet.

    2. Yeah, I’m still sticking with 7. I have tons of software that works fantastically for what I need, that will break if I upgrade. No thanks. You’ll have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands.

My dad got a new computer so that he could run Windows 11.

Despite my warnings (And insistence that he just switch to Linux), he now hates Windows 11.

      Good job, Microsoft.

That could be why they gave the free one year extension of win 10 updates through 10/26/26. I hope cooler heads will prevail at Microsoft, but I doubt it.

    5. I didn’t stick to Windows 10, i switched to Linux and haven’t looked back.

    6. ..and what will CEO’s of Microsoft learn from this?

      ..absolutely nothing!

I’ve yet to find a distro that works great switching to HDR. Once that happens I’ll move back to it again, hopefully for good.

    8. The number of crash and inadvertent reboots to my Window 11 systems makes me consider switching to Apple.

Forget Windows. We switched over to Linux. My partner and I made our home a Microsoft no-go zone.

I switched to Mac m2 mini. Dammit, I hate to admit it, but it’s good. Fast, zero issues, and no “Please wait…UPDATING”.

    11. I’ve jumped to a Mac for my daily driver, but Windows will always have a presence at home.

    12. I mean windows 11 got close to a billion users, this is average transition progression from one version to another.. article is misleading

Was at my local DMV yesterday. All but one of the big screens on the walls that tell you what ticket is up and what counter to go to simply displayed the MS screen that says Win10 is no longer supported and that you should upgrade to Win11. I couldn’t help but laugh.

I tried 11 twice and both times reverted back ti windows 10. The counterintuive ui is a killer for me alongside many bugs that followed. I just dont understand why anyone who is good at tech wpuld want to use w11, there is nothing good out of it, only bad. I also skipped the glass shit on osx

    15. After my experience with W11 on my workstation and work laptop, I just bought Macbook Air.

    16. It’s because a lot of it are using it at work.   I’ve got it in the office, and there’s nothing great or terrible about it for the rudimentary tasks I mostly do.

I’m also aware that there is a phalanx of desktop guys who have stripped stuff out, locked stuff down and tested it.

So why am I going to put in that effort into my local desktop to get no material benefit?
