Damn, that’s crazy the country with 1.4 billion people pollutes more than the country with 66 million people. Nobody could have guessed that. Now do per capita CO2 emissions.

I always giggle at this stuff. I operate a large Jet. If ATC or the pilots mess up even one approach, we may burn an additional 10,000 lbs of fuel or 1500 gallons. Thats over 5 years of driving my car in terms of carbon emissions. Im not gonna feel bad for using a gas stove or even buying a pickup truck while these corporations and government interests are burning many many more times that in an instant.

I think the real conspiracy here is that banning combustion engines makes cars less accessible for a lot of people. How are you gonna buy a cheap first car when petrol/diesel has been banned? You’ll be forced to either buy an old EV which is probably far less reliable than an old diesel would be, or to pay a shitload of money for a brand new electric car that you can’t even afford if you’re young.

And combustion engines (mostly older ones) are taxed like mad too, at least in Denmark. Sure, you can find something like a 1996 Honda Accord for around $1250/£940 (which isn’t even that cheap for a 30-year old car with 300k km). Thing is it’ll cost $470/£350 every 6 months in ‘green tax’, meaning that within a year and a half, you would’ve spent more money just owning the car than you spent on buying it. Incredible waste of money.

OP wants to compare the **total** CO2 output between a country of ~1.4 billion people (and which makes loads of stuff) —> to a country of ~70 million people (and which makes not-a-lot).

A more reasonable comparison would be the per capita values, once again keeping in mind that China makes loads of the world’s stuff, whilst UK makes not-a-lot.

2024 data – China (8.66) and UK (4.53) tons per person. Compare this to, say, Australia (14.48), USA (14.2), Canada (13.42). So, whilst CO2 per capita is certainly higher in China than UK, the figure is quite reasonable considering its manufacturing output, and considering that it is way lower than other modern, developed nations. Also, it has achieved its modernisation (and industrialisation) at a much lower historical rate compared to other nations

Conclusion – perhaps OP should focus their conspiracy suspicions on why UK seems to act like a lap-dog to USA and Israel, following their every command and trend, deliberately making enemies out of far away countries on the whim of USA & Israel
