Honestly that whole area is just a major tourist trap
the food is NOT worth the money, is it really worth paying double the usual price for regular sushi? They’re not even exceptionally fresh or anything…

Well, some shrines already limit visitors to their grounds and will prioritize worshippers as too many people come to just pose for IG or even modeling which is now prohibited.
Understandable as many sites are not meant to be for tourism in the first place.
Restaurants in my area also will start accepting only reservations that are made well ahead of the Christmas holidays and those who have no residence cannot apply. It’s to guarantee that locals and frequent customers can enjoy their time.
The limitations of tourists at the former Tsukiji Fishmarket on certain days has been a common thing for ages. It just didn’t make it to social media before.

if this is not hate, I dont know what it is.

    you expect tourists to

    – come to airport

    – drop the money, take a bow

    – and leave?

    WTF?

  4. Frankly, I think people should avoid Tsukiji outer market at any time of year.

It’s mostly a tourist trap, with lots of the stalls displaying English signs advertising overpriced skewers of beef or scallop for Y3,000 or more.
