  1. 130 does not sound like much, but we’ll see where it goes. I guess technically the counter systems could be stationed near vulnerable infrastructure and be remote controlled?

More interesting is the question how the role and equipment of the police will develop should deep drone warfare intensify. The Bundeswehr must not be deployed internally without an „old school“ invasion. Border/Federal police has historically covered specialised capability gaps like GSG9. But I’m not sure how people will react to police running around with missiles and airburst cannons (which is not what is currently happening, just a thought).

Glad to see the government is finally taking aerial threats seriously. Drones are becoming a real hybrid warfare and security headache, especially near airports and critical infrastructure.

In the national defense system, drone based offenses are considered especially heinous. In the German Republik, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Police Unit. These are their stories.
