My buddy met his wife on there they were both mid 40’s so people in their 40’s might use it

Apparently people trust that more than Tinder now from what I’ve heard.

I keep it for marketplace because it has dethroned Craigslist. Haven’t looked at the feed in years but at a glance when I first log in it seems to be ads, people and places I don’t follow, right wing relatives, and then fellow aging millennials arguing with their right wing relatives.

I deleted Facebook Dating recently because giving Facebook ongoing access to Location Services after you’ve already set up your profile became a requirement to continue using FB Dating. No thanks, I’d rather pay another service than allow Facebook to track my every move.

Any other alternative?
Tinder and bumble are pretty shit for me now.
I know bumble is safer for women but someone I magically matched with there says she has hundreds of likes per day and showed me how overwhelming it is to go through each.
While for guys I literally get one every 2 months
Hinge is okay at best. Same old dating app situation where you go with the flow and they ghost.
Fb dating has gotten me 4 dates, hinge 2, bumble 1 this past year.

Online dating has really lowered the dating pool for most people, allowing them to pre screen the vast majority once by the company, next by the user, based on half baked metrics that would not be proper even if info was accurate.
Fb is the last company that should be pre screening your matches.

It was the last dating app that wasn’t a loot box casino.

As someone who uses online dating apps, Facebook dating is unironically the best one out there only because it’s not monetized to the tits like all of the others are now. Facebook dating feels a lot like Plenty of Fish used to feel.
Say what you want about Facebook but it’s a pretty “classic” online dating experience free of all of the passes, boosts, subscriptions, and whatever other nonsense.

Wifes sister uses it and frankly if im ever single again, knowing there are women on there that are single and look like my wifes sister, I will be using it.

I bet it would be a great place for people who are anti vaxxers and far right to meet.

I actually met my BF of 2.5 years there. And the two previous guys I met there were also semi long-term.
My theory is that it’s so fucking painful to use that if you’re using it, you must REALLY want to put the effort into a relationship.

I know two different couples who met over fb dating who are now married. They were in their late 20s when they met.

Your results may vary, but as a man FB dating is BY FAR the best dating app. When you like someone, you actually fucking show up for them to either like back or not.

I used it to find my girlfriend, but then my wife made me stop using it.

As a man in my late 40s, FB dating has been the most productive site for me. I don’t want to pay for dating apps, and out of the pool of free ones, FB has been the only one I’ve ended up on real dates from.

I know a guy who doesn’t use Facebook dating but does just go through profiles of chicks he thinks are hot and dms them. It’s worked surprisingly well for him.

Genuinely: the UI and some features are bad. The filters don’t save. It can be a pain to navigate and there aren’t as many people on there as other apps.
Buuuuuut it has no monetization. It lets you see who likes you, you can start a chat right away. There’s no secrecy to it and it might be the best app right now for actually matching and meeting people quickly.
It’s not trying to monetize off making matching harder unless you pay, so it’s actually the best app out there in terms of function
