Germany is putting its first Israeli-made Arrow 3 missile defense battery into service, the first time the system will operate outside Israel.

The four billion euro deal gives Germany and NATO a long-range, space-intercept capability that can stop ballistic missiles before they reenter the atmosphere.

The first battery is being prepared now and is expected to reach initial readiness in early 2026, with more units delivered through 2030.

Arrow 3 will form the top layer of Germany’s air defense alongside Patriot and IRIS-T, strengthening Europe’s missile shield as threats grow worldwide.

    2. I’m surprised Israel has missiles to sell. Iran is talking about mass missile attacks to overwhelm the available air defenses.

    3. Superb system but vulnerable to maneuvering warheads & decoys. I was in the WB during the 12-day war and Iran was depleting the system all night and landing a massive ballistic around 7am everyday. Overall, a great system to have once layered with other defenses.

Interesting fact about the Arrow 3 – the US funded its development and therefore, every sale must also be signed off by the U.S. government.
