An issue here is with „Green bonds“ how completely undefinable they are that they can be used to fudge a balance sheet and separately what constitutes a pollution incident and how easy it is to cover up – those in the industry know what I’m in about.
The idea of green bonds are great although it actually facilities the waterwheel of horsesh*t that is the lack of action from Water companies. A lot of this has to also do with how much debt they can write off as it’s a cyclical business and how much is required to be payed to shareholders.
Offwat is also too soft – glad to see they’re being pushed into a stronger more centralised body.
