My birth state!! I’m American but my dad’s first gen Portuguese-American so he briefly got a job in São Paulo effectively being a glorified translator for a law firm, and I just so happened to be born when my parents were living there. I moved to the States when I was 2 years old so I barely remember living in Brazil, but I’m technically still a Brazilian citizen as well as an American citizen because they also do citizenship based on birth just like the US. And because both of my parents are American citizens, I had two citizenships the minute I was born.
I love SP though, I’ve been back a few times to visit family friends we have down there and it’s such a cool city. A true urban jungle, there’s nothing quite like it.

Bad map without specifying year. I know it’s a bad map because I often track the competition between Argentina and São Paulo, because they are usually neck to neck in population and GDP.
In 2024, both had about 46M population and and for GDP Argentina had a 633B USD while São Paulo had 648B.
