      > Pakistan added roughly 17 GW of solar in 2024

Very few nations have added so much solar capacity in such a short time. If my understanding is correct, for a period of time they dropped all tariffs on solar panels and had almost no regulations on who could and couldn’t install capacity, so a bunch of people just DYI’d themselves into getting solar setup in record time. Also, local traditional power generation was sporadic so it was a no brainer to go for solar.

I don’t think there will be many other countries that will have such a Wild West attitude towards solar or the same exact local factors, so the likelihood of it scaling so quickly to completely collapse LNG demand is not as high.

I still think that Canada should do more analysis before putting billions of dollars into LNG projects.

These articles are nice and all but check the numbers , all of our LNG projects are getting huge private investments.

These articles also fail to underscore the massive and explosive demand we are and will continue to see for energy in general. Crypto, A.i , decarbonization and ect are exploding the demand on our energy industrys and once these trends spread to country’s such as India energy outlook requirements will explode .

Food for thought, The Americans also ship Crude to India via the gulf coast , India is part of „Asian“ markets.

    3. Diversification is always key. Asian markets aren’t relying on LNG as a sole or even final platform, so we just need to make choices that take such into consideration.
