i really think we need to stop hyper focusing on oil. it’s never been about oil.
actually they rigged the 2020 elections and were rigging elections in 72 countries for many years. So that might be the reason for the past actions there. EmeraldRobinson broke the story on twitter recently
To what extent Maduro is a good guy is very up to debate, but the fact that the Venezuela crisis is by design from the US government and oil companies is no doubt.
Venezuela has been buddying up to China, Russia, and Iran. Spaceports, radar stations, and other military facilities have been steadily building up. The resources are just a cherry on top of stopping a new toehold in the Western Hemisphere
As long death and torture prisons ends and the 8 million displaced Venezuelans can return to their home I do not care if it is just about resources.
Trump and the tech oligarchs want south america. They also want greenland and canada but it was obvious that they couldn’t get support to start it there.

As always, it’s about money. It’s about using your money (taxes) and lives (no fortunate sons on the front lines) to steal resources for an already ultra wealthy parasite class to sell back to you (at artificially inflated prices set by anticompetitive secret agreement), even though you have already paid for the majority of the cost of the resources‘ extraction in blood, sweat, and tears.
From south America here, I would really love to see presidents in the region to not let Trump do whatever he wants and start wars in our continent, for so long we have been out of any conflicts and as American bros, no blood should be covering our lands either

Venezuela has been posturing in the news for years about invading its tiny neighbor Guyana because they have 11b barrels proven oil reserves that rival middle east nations. You can find lots of articles on it. The reserves are operated and controlled by Exxonmobil. You can find articles about Ven troops pressuring the border and Maduro, pushing a referendum on the smaller states validity, and declaring that the oil reserves belong to them. America wants to make Guyana a rich client state thru predatory business, Venezuela wants to dissolve Guyana and take over it’s territory by subversion or force.
It’s not about oil but weaken Russia by eliminating their weak alliance first.
Hard to argue that any war isn’t about resources. Load up on your Exxon Mobile stock and infrastructure builders, and of course sprinkle in a little Raytheon.
