Refugees have already been fleeing venezuela for a long time now. The people there are tired of the current regime and its allies. They’re tired of living under the thumb of narco terrorists. Not to mention all the chinese and russian interests down there, two nations we seem to be squaring up against. Its pretty clear they’ve been setting up venezuela as a proxy state, and have been using them to cause problems for us already. Im sure Venezuela is of strategic value in the event things go hot between china and the US.
Apparently maduro offered the US all the oil and mineral rights not long ago for them to leave the venezuelan government alone. Kind of curious, because china and russia already have those rights. And maduro didnt make that offer on his own, those states gave him permission. If their interest isnt in the oil and minerals there, what could they possibly be doing to make losing all those right worth it i wonder?
