So killed someone, maimed another. Ran from the crash whilst one of his victims was screaming. Lied when arrested. Pled not guilty until the last minute.
7 years feels light (like everything).
I think I’ve come to the mind that if you take a life then you get a mandatory life sentence. Now that doesn’t mean life in prison. It means you are forever on ‚conditions‘, and they can be whatever society deems just. In this case I think permanent ban from driving and alcohol. You don’t get to just serve 7 years (which is what, less than 5 years with good behaviour?) and then carry on as if nothing ever happened.

Our sentences are pathetic. I was watching a YouTube video of a similar case in Texas. Drunk guy drove the wrong way and killed 2 people. They call it ‘Vehicular homicide’, he got 30 years with chance of parole after 20.
11 points, multiple shots of spirits, then got behind the wheel of a Range Rover along with 7 friends who were just as stupid as he was. These people make me so angry.
