Ich bin etwas ratlos und bitte um Rat.
Ich zog in eine neue Wohnung und abonnierte Vodafone-Internet. Ich habe mich für die Option ohne Router entschieden, da ich Google Nest WiFi aus den USA hatte.
Erst nachdem ich herausgefunden habe, dass Deutschland (wenn ich das richtig verstehe) SATA-Kabelleitungen anstelle von Telefonleitungen für Internetdaten verwendet. Und deshalb kann ich mein Ethernet-Kabel vom Router nicht an die Wand anschließen, da kein Ethernet-Anschluss vorhanden ist.
Meine Frage: WENN ICH diesen SATA-zu-Ethernet-Konverter kaufe, wird er funktionieren?
Also SATA-Kabel zum Konverter und Ethernet vom Konverter zum Router. Wird das reichen?

No expert here, but i think you need a modem, most routers in germany have the modem inbuild
Buy a modem and plug a ethernet cable from the modem into your nest
If you don’t get good replies here maybe try r/de_edv
first of all: germany does NOT only use sata (it’s coax by the way!) for internet. you chose to get with vodafone cable so you’re on a coax cable. we have DSL and fiber too. and i honestly would recommend you to get a fritzbox, best routers around here and way better than the stuff you want to use.
what you need is an actual cable router / modem that knows how to connect to a connection of that type before you can use your google nest behind that. an adapter won’t magically make it possible to communicate with a completely different counterpart that has different protocols than you router can understand.
