The fact they wont accept floor crossers is why theyll lack behind the other parties among other factors. Principles only get a party so far in politics.

It’s weird how an occupation like politics, populated largely by adults, sometimes feels like a bunch of 8 year olds in a tree fort shouting at the poor neighbourhood schlemiel „You’re not allowed in our club!“

It’s like Calvin’s G.R.O.S.S. club, except this time it stands for „Get Rid Of Slimy Guilbeaults“.

I doubt very much that Guilbeault is going to cross the floor. He’s far more likely simply to resign his seat if he feels he can’t even serve as a Liberal backbencher.

And I’m not welcome in the Kremlin, doesn’t mean I want to be there or asked. Why this came up and why NP is writing about it is beyond me.

This entire article is why I cannot support the NDP and think they’re a joke. Take Guilbeault for example, he’s known for being extremely pro-environment to the point that even May invited him to join the Greens. Guilbeault is very much a progressive within the Liberals and was seen as quite far left even under the standards of Trudeau. He is exactly the kind of MP the NDP should be trying to get to cross the aisle to join their team and re-legitimize their party.

This is an insane purity test that says “if you haven’t supported us from the beginning, don’t bother knocking on our door, you’re not welcome.”
