Can’t read the article, but I’m not sure why what happens next is murky. If it is, some work needs to be done to clarify that before they are issued student visas. I’m absolutely 100% for legal immigration but people flouting the rules doesn’t help anyone. We need to do better at following up on visa expiries and people need to be encouraged to immigration through legal channels. Perhaps some channels could even be set up to evaluate international students for legal immigration before they leave Canada? It’s a thought but simply ignoring a visa expiry is not a flex.
