We need a president that will invest heavily into America after this. An fdr for the modern age. We have to build back what has been lost and for the future.

The dream of rising to a position of personal privilege such as to become insulated from the plight of the common people.

A new dream ought to be dreamt. One in which one’s victory doesn’t come at the cost of someone else’s loss, for that old way has brought us to the great inequalities of the present day.

minimum wage has been stagnant since 2009…will DEMs ever have the idea increasing the minimum wage?

I love Andy, he’s my governor and he’s done a great job here. But anyone who says they want to „heal America“ or „bridge the divide“ or „unite the country“ without also saying „…after all of these scumbags are behind bars“ deserves to finish dead last in the 2028 primary. All of the things Andy is talking about are very important, but holding evildoers accountable is the critical step in between where we are now and where we need to be. And you can’t skip that step. Biden tried to and look at what happened

    5. The more that Dems stay out of cultural distractions and the nonsense of the day, and instead stay focused on the kitchen table everyday American issues – the more they win.  Stay focused on lowering prescription drugs and raising the standard of living. Focus on job creation and stability.  Focus on making life affordable and the freedom that provides.  Talk about a parent having to work 3 jobs and not be able to afford a coach for their kid let alone go to their game. Or people who have been looking for jobs for a year and the lack of freedom they have in their life.

Keep hammering affordability and link it to freedom.  Pete was great about this message during his campaign in 2020.

Stop selling people dreams and work with them towards a better reality.

If you want to get sold a dream about a hypothetical better life later then you join a religion. Political parties are for fixing stuff in life now.

      Reignite the American Dream? Cool

Step one: stop letting billionaires hoard all the oxygen

There are different American dreams. Some people want equal rights, an efficient health care system, and prosperity. Some people want a Republican authoritarian kleptocrat that breaks the law to give Republicans the privilege they feel entitled to. And do things like exacerbate food insecurity.

These kinds of differences amount to more than just „a different letter.“

And to do that the centrist democrats are like but don’t give people healthcare or housing or food or anything that can help them.

Democrats always have to do everything because Republicans regress and destroy the country and the economy.

The Right are not looking to work together on anything. It’s all about stealing tax dollars for the rich and they will adopt any social war to get the votes to maintain that power.

Start by getting rid of the „pay monthly for everything“ model. I pay so much more and own so much less. It’s exhausting.

Looks like someone wants to be President…. Id vote for him, has a real good chance.

    14. He’s right… the democratic party as a whole needs to move left. Way left. If you want people to turn out to vote you have to give them hope that things will meaningfully change. Otherwise they won’t bother, because it feels like a losing battle when you have to choose between people that will make things worse and people that will do nothing but uphold the status quo.

    15. FUCK the American “Dream” — dreams are *not* reality, they’re ephemeral temptations and not a basis to live your life on. We need the AMERICAN PROMISE. Housing, Healthcare, Education, Justice (non of which should be tied to profits) and an emphasis on a live-and-let-live society.

    16. I can think much that needs to be done on jobs/wages and costs of living across the board (Healthcare, drugs, housing, childcare, education), but for starters, you can renew the American dream by ensuring the solvency of Social Security and Medicare, and protect it from cuts…

Especially at a time when corporate profits in the US are $4T, and the top 1% are hoarding record wealth. If Social Security and Medicare are cut under these circumstances, then there is no American dream.

    17. Not Democrats. Progressives! Unions! Let’s make billionaires work harder for their exploitation.

The American Dream is only real when you are born into a wealthy family… Otherwise life is a grind… If Democrats want to shake the baby and give everybody false hope… … Again… Get ready for a Trump Family 3.0.

Democrats need to seize the opportunity and paint a real image of our capitalist overlords that make The American Dream impossible for 99% of us.

They’re gonna need a social media propaganda machine to do that in this day and age.

To only have to work 40 hours a week and be able to afford rent and food with a bank account still in double (positive) digits?

Beshear is pretty impressive as Dem Gov of a red state. That being said, Newsom’s strategy of tapping in to peoples anger will probably prove more effective.
