      >Using a pseudo-Bayesian modeling approach, the study estimated that 78,318 (70,614-87,504) were killed in Gaza between October 7, 2023, and the end of 2024 as a direct result of the conflict. In a subsequent analysis conducted after publication, the authors found that by October 6, 2025, the number of conflict-related deaths in Gaza had likely surpassed 100,000.

This vastly exceeds what Gaza’s own Health Ministry reports, which has been shown to chronically exaggerate. Not likely.

„the number of conflict-related deaths in Gaza had likely surpassed 100,000.“

That is at least 5% of Gaza’s pre-war population. That would be the equivalent of at least 17 million Americans dying within the span of about 2 years. Shows how devastating the war actually is.

Horrific, the floodgates should be opened to allow aid and medical workers into Gaza.

It’s super sad to see what happens when you consistently elect a terrorist organization to lead you

After seeing tons of these studies get debunked, or people from all sorts of food/UN agencies admit bias and twisting of facts, I don’t care about these headlines anymore. So-called researchers turned their fields into a propaganda war, and it’s tiresome.

Just recently I’ve encountered the [post regarding Gazans IQ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Palestinian_Violence/s/E6gR40xTqb) and I’ve been meaning to ask scientific community for their thoughts on this. As a mother of a child that has ECT I cannot understand who and why would conduct an IQ testing on severally, generationally traumatised population in the midst of the war. Was this moral and ethical?

I think this study is just the beginning of the final count of the violence in the last 2 years.
