The suspect in the shooting of two National Guard members near the White House on Wednesday was granted asylum by President Donald Trump’s administration, it has been reported.
A source familiar with the case and a separate law enforcement source told NBC News that Rahmanullah Lakanwal was granted asylum in the U.S. this year.

Please dont make this 9/11 2.0. My sympathies are with the two National Guard soldiers. I fear Trump admin is going to 1. Still find a way to blame this on Biden since the operation started under him, and 2. Use this as justification for his illegal immigration raids
To be fair to any Government in power. You can scrutinize someone and grant them asylum and they then just go nuts.

There wasn’t proper screening because in the first Trump term, after agreeing to leave Afghanistan by 2021, they didn’t leave the Biden admin with any exit strategy or enough troops to leave the country properly.
