Der belgische Europaabgeordnete Wouter Beke bekräftigte die Bedenken von Premierminister Bart De Wever, dass die Aufnahme eines Kredits in Höhe von 140 Milliarden Euro für die Ukraine Belgien inakzeptablen rechtlichen und finanziellen Risiken aussetzen würde. Das Programm bleibt für Kallas und die Kommission die bevorzugte Option, um die Ukraine im nächsten Jahr über Wasser zu halten.
Eine andere Teilnehmerin sagte, Kallas habe sich „sehr herablassend“ über die Position Belgiens geäußert.
Die Staats- und Regierungschefs hoffen, beim Europäischen Rat Ende Dezember eine Einigung über das Darlehen erzielen zu können. „Wenn das nicht geschieht, wird es für die Belgier problematisch“, warnte ein Diplomat.
Euractiv-Kolumnist Simon Nixon schreibt in seinem neuesten Leitartikel, dass die Sorgen Belgiens berechtigt seien: Das Land sei einer realen Gefahr russischer Vergeltungsmaßnahmen ausgesetzt, Euroclear – die in Brüssel ansässige Clearingstelle – würde ein einzigartig hohes rechtliches und finanzielles Risiko tragen.
Belgien hat sich jedoch geweigert, das Programm zu unterstützen, es sei denn, seine rechtlichen und finanziellen Risiken werden geteilt und andere EU-Hauptstädte nutzen russische Staatsvermögen, die in ihren eigenen Hoheitsgebieten gehalten werden.
Also wollen Leute wie Kallas im Grunde, dass die belgischen Bürger die Last tragen, wenn Russland Euroclear und Belgien vor Gerichten auf der ganzen Welt, auch bei unseren Handelspartnern, zerrt, damit wir und unsere Kinder über Generationen hinweg am Arsch sind? Natürlich würde Eurocler zahlungsunfähig werden. Ebenso wie unsere globale Finanzlage. Und als unser belgischer Gouverneur. bittet darum, rechtliche und finanzielle Risiken zu teilen, es herrscht ohrenbetäubendes Schweigen.
Warum ist überhaupt ein Leboutin an der Spitze der EU-Diplomatie verantwortlich, der nicht gewählte Nazi-Sprösslinge trägt?

Yes, but anyway, she doesn’t have much support within the upper echelons of Europe and international bodies. In fact, let’s be frank, she can say whatever she wants, it doesn’t matter; it’s just what little credibility she has left that ultimately disappears.
At this point I’m wondering if the frozen Russian Assets are still present at Euroclear, or has this become a Zilverfonds 2.0 where the money is already gone but as long as the war continues Russia won’t claim it and nobody knows it’s an empty box.

Also to me it is insane that Kallas was allowed to take up her post with several corruption allegations running. Really paints a bad image when Europe really needs a good one. One of those allegations is tied to Russia, really turns this whole shit into a sitcom doesnt it.
Kallas makes dumb statements all the times. Outside of the EU nobody takes her serious. Now she’s making sure that inside of the EU also nobody takes her serious.
It’s a disgrace that this anti-diplomacy person got appointed to her position as minister of foreign affairs for the EU. She’s destroying the EU’s influence in the world. She does the opposite of her job.
She’s a clown. The problem is that the rest of the world doesn’t want to host her stupid circusshow.

When we confiscate the property of criminals, are we concerned that they would drag Belgian authorities to courts in other countries? Are we concerned that it would give a bad signal to other criminals so they start to avoid our banks?
If EU makes a decision to recognize the actions of Russia as criminal, with the consequences of seizing their assets – then what court in EU do you think would have an authority to reverse that decision? If Russia could use our judicial system, it would already have done so, to unfreeze those money and pull them away, they do need them.
And what do we care about non EU courts?
