  1. More from the Bloomberg News team:

US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff, fresh from the triumph of the Gaza peace deal, held a phone call last month with a senior Kremlin official to suggest they work together on a similar plan for Ukraine — and that Vladimir Putin should raise it with Donald Trump.

In an Oct. 14 phone call that lasted a little over five minutes, Witkoff advised Yuri Ushakov, Putin’s top foreign policy aide, on how the Russian leader should broach the issue with Trump. His guidance included suggestions on setting up a Trump-Putin call before Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s White House visit later that week and using the Gaza agreement as a way in.

  2. So Witkoff advised Putin on how to „handle“ Trump.

Pretty sure Putin already knew that anyway. Trump’s an easy mark.

For a second, I couldn’t remember if Witkoff was a US or a Russian diplomat… but then I remembered it doesn’t matter because he’s both.

It’s very likely if a new administration comes in that his role gets re assessed to see if anything fishy happened. Do we think he gets pardoned by the current president before he exits for any crimes he may have committed ?

If Witkoff is involved, then expect Ukraine to be thrown under the bus and simultaneously witkoff’s and trump’s family becoming richer by millions if not billions .

According to Former US NSA Jack Sullivan, who has served under Obama , Biden , Hillary Clinton
„Trump has thrown ties with India over the side“ under the advise of Steve witkoff for his Business interests in Pakistan.

All Russia has to do is invest money in Trump , Witkoff, kushner and the they will get the desired deal.

  6. Witkoff is just like Trump. He is a buisnessman. He don’t care about Russia, Ukraine, Europe, Palestine etc. He is there to make a deal. It doesn’t need to be pretty but it needs to work.

Judging what’s going on in Israel I don’t believe this thing will work.

But before we grill him let’s wait on Putin. He might just say no and we are back to square 1.

  7. Steve Witkoff… my second most disliked person in the Trump administration. This guy might want Russia to win more than anyone else in the White House.

  8. Every Western leader who has ever dealt with Putin says the same thing – he believes all Westerners can be bought and negotiations are only about the price. He doesn’t understand what principles are or that some in the west value them over money – and seemingly neither does Witkoff or Trump.

Does Russia even have an ambassador? I know lavrov isn’t in favour, but I’d expect them to at least he’d want independent reports of what’s said and seen written down. Unless this is that famous transparency the admin harps on about.

  10. If selling out the American people meant nothing to them why would we think selling out the people of Ukraine would be any different?

  11. The own goal that the US is scoring is mind boggling to behold. Russia is marching towards bankruptcy like there is no tomorrow. Literally the only thing that US would need to do is spend a fraction of their defense budget (mostly in written off assets like f16s and Bradley’s) and be steadfast and unwavering in their support and they have a chance of strengthening ties with their closest allies, get a major new friend in Ukraine, bring Russia to its knees and show China that the US is still the big baddy around not too be trifled with.

Instead first we got Biden afraid to really act hard and fast getting scared by empty threats of escalation. And then a Russian asset literally pushing its allies away, showing China and Russia they can easily make the US their laughing stock and show the world the US cannot be relied upon.

    Great work.

  12. >During his call with Ushakov, Witkoff told his Russian counterpart that **he had deep respect for Putin and that he had told Trump that it was his belief that Russia has always wanted a peace deal**.

Russia has **never** wanted a peace deal.

They wouldn’t continue the war and continue to kill civilians if they did.

He’s saying it to „*grease the wheels*“, which anyone with half a brain can see right through, including Putin.

That firmly puts him in the category of someone who should not be negotiating these sorts of deals. ie a moron.

    >Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.

I’m fairly certain this would fall under aiding an enemy which would make him a traitor.

  15. More smoke and mirrors about Russia wanting peace. I hope with Ukraine agreeing to an outline of a peace plan and Russia turning it down once again it will put the spotlight on Russia. For some reason Russia is made to look like the victim in this war.

I’m sure small words, crayons and a photo of him blowing bubba where part of the slide show

  20. Even Reagan would have a fit if the US was trying to help Russia in any way. It’s astonishing how in my lifetime we went from mortal enemies to rolling out the red carpet for Putin. Meanwhile Russia has undermined US influence and security for decades. I hope this whole administration gets investigated.

Witkoff is a fucking idiot and should not be in the position he’s in. Entirely unqualified and an embarrassment.

This should disqualify him from continue working in this role at the very least but I have little hope. Maybe if US media grows a spine and pushes for action from this scandal.
