Let’s make the EU work. If the EU works – and it will work – then over time ppl will want more unification.
No one realises but large part of our common law is already more integrated than in the USA.

The EU current has tons of issues to work on itself, I used to be a fervent supporter of a federal Europe, but with how it willy nilly appoints Europe’s corrupt outcasts as its leadership (Von der Leyen, António Costa, etc) and can’t help but betray its „people first, profits second“ motto every now and then when no one’s looking, they need a lot to square up in their house before investing in a federalization

Most people who want a „United States of Europe“ are just delusional and think that this will somehow magically change the relative strength of different political groups, allowing them to get all their policy goals that currently don’t have majorities behind them.

This is a concept that will eventually make it to mainstream politics. But the time isn’t there yet. I feel like it has to get worse before it gets better.

You’ll inevitably have to dissolve the EU and reform it with only some of the members and not others. Why weaken the alliance that way?
