Rough 50 years to be a monarch between the 19th and 20th centuries.

    2. Both Czech republic and Slovakia should be 1918. The Declaration of independence literally says:

„Our nation elected the Hapsburgs to the throne of Bohemia of its own free will, and by the same right deposes them. We hereby declare the Hapsburg dynasty unworthy of leading our nation, and deny all of their claims to rule in the Czechoslovak Land, which we here and now declare shall henceforth be a free and independent people and nation.“

    3. Canada, Australia and New Zealand are monarchies, but the UK isn’t?

Edit: found my error. UK is a *restored* monarchy.

Myanmar seems to be wrong, since it was a British colony and got independent only in 1948

so the only European countries that never had a monarchy are Switzerland, Czechia and Slovakia and Philippines and Indonesia are the only Asian countries that never had a monarchy despite being colonized by monarchial countries

    6. The Mexican government officially never transferred power to Maximilian’s empire (which was only the government of the French occupation force), it kept its head of state throughout.

    7. France is wrong, I’m ok to not take 1789-1793 has the definitive end of monarchy because there has been a restauration next to the first empire, but it ended in 1848 and then was Napelon III second empire. It could make me appear picky but it wasn’t a monarchy at all.

    8. Independent Finland was never a monarchy, the king was selected though, but Prince Frederick Charles of Hesse had some regrets after Germany lost WW1 and was never crowned.

If anything, the year should be the same as Russia’s.

    9. Poland, as a country, stopped being a monarchy in 1795 when it was partitioned and reappeared as a democracy after World War 1 in 1919.

    10. Why do you use map from 1990s? Czechoslovakia doesnt exist anymore for 30 years. And we were once monarchy, so why are we grey? Low efford post

    11. Burma date is wrong. It was part of British India till 1937 when it was separated but remained under the British till 1948.

    12. Czechia had a monarchy until 1918. Since 16th century it was ruled by Hansburgs but it was still a kingdom. While in English it’s not called „Kingdom of Czechia“ but „Kingdom of Bohemia“, its original Czech name would directly translate to the former.

    13. Why 1990 for Kuwait?

Iraq was driven out in 1991, but the international community never recognized the Iraq government and the Emir ran a government in exile the whole time.

wait shouldn’t Zimbabwe be 1980 because of that one moment in 1979-1980 where it was reverted to British rule?

We technically still have monarchies in South Africa. The thing is we left the British Empire but the kings of local African ethnic groups still exist and are recognized by the government. But, they don’t have any real power over policies

What’s with Ukraine? Why does it have different date from the rest of the Russian Empire?
