The governments of the world hold meetings with each other daily, yes even ‚enemies‘. Gotta talk with each other to make the world go round. Business needs arranging. Diplomatic communication channels stay open.

No need to inform everyone and their mother about it.

Kind of telling. I think Ukraine has truly managed to hamstrung Russian finances to the point that it’s facing the abyss. If not, then this sort of diplomatic amateur hour wouldn’t be happening on a daily basis
