So increase inequality. Make bail harder for the poor to access while the rich can easily pay their way out. The justice system always works better for the rich.
The Ford govt loves to look south at systems that are causing massive problems and proving extremely difficult to undo, and saying „why don’t we give that a shot?“
This is against justice in every single way. Especially in the north, with barely any court locations and massive distances between potential sureties and the courthouse. It will be a disaster for those in fly in first nations.
This is a move to get fords cronies in the bail bond business more blood money.
