Didn’t they promise something like this already? I feel like I’m watching a rerun.

    2. > “Morale has never been lower,” the senior lawmaker said.

You should try it from the outside.

    3. So far Im seeing this speculative crap from Daily Boulder and The Daily Beast.  Not exactly sources that are known for resisting the urge to embellish.

    4. As more Epstein details about Donald trickle out, Republicans will have to figure out how long they’re willing to defend him. The longer you wait, the fewer excuses you have.

    5. East-Will1345 on

The nice thing about shameless careerist black holes of integrity is that they’re great weathervanes. If you see them all fleeing the forest at the same time, there’s a fire.

    6. I thought they were winning… are they getting tired of winning like Trump promised in the first campaign?

    7. Electrical-Ad6623 on

This could be for many reasons. Many Republican politicians become vocal against what the party is doing but only after they leave office. It should be a red flag that they’re afraid to have their own voice while they’re in office.

    8. Can someone check if massive republican resignations is in their 2025 plan? I’m too lazy and burnt out to look anymore.

    9. BimboDeeznuts on

You know, instead of resigning they could… vote no? Do literally anything to try and stop this?

I guess it’s easier to take your cushy retirement ball and go home instead when you know you have a non-zero chance of re-election.

    10. No-Independence-6842 on

I’d like to see them stand up and speak truth to power instead of resigning. If enough republicans stand up and say “ enough!” this will end.

    11. And yet their angst is still leaning towards „they’re hurting the wrong people“ and not „are we the baddies?“.

      Fuck them all.

    12. effortfulcrumload on

Epstien files are being released. Of course there will be resignations

    13. maybe instead of resigning they could grow a spine and fight for democracy

    14. Whats sad is everyone of of these cowards would rather resign and slink away, then stand up and do what is right.

    15. Doctor_Disaster on

So, rather than work with Democrats in the House to fix the problem, regardless of death threats, they opt for quitting after they get their pensions?

    16. Morale has never been lower… And yet, they have all of the power to change the shit situation we’re in.

    17. Can we make it so any member of congress who was a part of Jan 6th DO NOT GET LIFETIME FUCKING BENEFITS FROM THE GOVERNMENT??

      Fuck you for your service.

    18. Guppy-Warrior on

If only the Republicans could use their votes to solve the major issues we have with the corrupt government….

    19. manofredearth on

They need to come together to eject MTG for defrauding the system by waiting for lifetime benefits to kick in. If she’s quitting, she can GTFO right now, like what happens to the rest of us.

    20. Good 3 more and they become the minority party in the House and maybe we don’t have to wait until mid term elections to stop the insanity.

    21. Past-Profile3671 on

      When the going gets tough…quit.

The republican way since Jeff Flake

    22. montanagrizfan on

How about they put their new found morality to work and start voting their beliefs instead of resigning? Cowards.

    23. Basically, what I’m seeing is that the more moderate GOP are jumping ship on thr administration, depending on who it is and how they will fill the vacancies Trump could get more MAGA hardliners to replace them. This could be a bad thing. Calling anyone whose thinking of resigning to think long and hard. MAGA doesn’t need to be strengthened.

    24. DramaticWesley on

GOP, who are constantly shutting down the government and trying to push their unconstitutional Christian nationalism, might have more resignations. That sounds like great news.

    25. They have the power to remove him. Instead, they remove themselves? What stupid fucking logic is that??

    26. TintedApostle on

The very people who could end this through impeachment are resigning. They can’t go against their ideology even if the nation is at stake.

„Maybe you do not care much about the future of the Republican Party. You should. Conservatives will always be with us. If conservatives become convinced that they can not win democratically, they will not abandon conservatism. The will reject democracy.”

Less than a year in power and they can even govern themselves.

Why does anyone vote for this party of worthless clowns?

    28. imagine unironically being a republican right now enabling all this insane evil shit and thinking you still have integrity or a soul really.

    29. I’m really interested in them being afraid and suffering from sleeplessness and dread. I’d really love for them and their die hard followers to get ulcers from sadness.

I have zero sympathy for these people. We have suffered virtually nonstop for a YEAR, I hope their disgrace lasts ten years.

      God, FUCK these people.

    30. TruthEnvironmental24 on

The party of „Fuck you, I got mine“ shocked when members dip during pivotal midterms saying, „Fuck you, I got mine.“

      Lmao

    31. Pusfilledonut on

Madge made somewhere between 15-25 million dollars in her brief tenure, and resigns two days after her life time pension and benefits package goes into effect. Next, she’ll get a Fox News gig or do speaking engagements for Neo-Nazi groups. Why stay and go down with the ship? Now she can claim she didn’t know what was transpiring as she helped plan J6, or fleeced the nation’s coffers, or stoked right wing violence. Always know when the party is over and its time to leave.

    32. VigilantVet on

Boy the recent election really kicked these assholes in the nuts. “Uh oh, we may be held accountable!”

    33. The presidency, house, and senate are all controlled by the same party and yet they have accomplished absolutely nothing.

    34. Instead of quitting and letting another potential maga nut take their spot, why don’t some of these ‘pissed off’ reps work with Democrats on ending this madness?

    35. thethrill_707 on

Yeah, most people quit jobs because of their boss and lack of any leadership.

I’d quit too. This isn’t going to improve with Donny in office, or any MAGA replacement.

Go do what others of your profession does. Go on the lecture tour for $50,000 a pop or lobby for whatever corporation gave your candidacy the most money last.

    36. dingdongbannu88 on

They’d rather flee than do the right thing and fight for America and Americans against tyranny and cronies

    37. I’m soooo confused. Aren’t they getting project 2025? Is that not what they wanted? So much of what is happening what written down in black and white right there. Trump grifting is the icing on the cake, but they’re getting what they wanted too. I read project 2025 and it turned my stomach that people would actually *want* to live through that. But here we are. *Now* there are republicans that think it’s too far…*after* things are so in motion that it’s next to impossible to stop and rebuild. OMG.

Perhaps they thought that there would be no more elections and they wouldn’t have any consequences for going against the vast majority of public opinion and needs? They felt like they’d have no fallout for letting someone’s grandma suffer starvation or their aunt languishing due to her disability or dying from a simple illness? I guess the notion of „no more elections“ is failing and there will be repercussions? What horrid people.

      Edit: typos

    38. All these republicans did was cut taxes and destroy the country.

that’s all they’ve ever done in my nearly 40 years on this earth. They never fucking build anything and people still vote for them, people still hold their tongues when their shitty parents or inlaws regurgitate fox news BS as their couuntry crumbles around them at the hands of their shitty relatives
