Payments for Russian troops fighting in Ukraine were suspended due to a lack of budget funds, it has been reported.
The finance minister from Yakutia said that troops from the republic in Russia’s far-eastern republic could not receive bonuses and one-time payments due to the shortfall.
Vladimir Putin has pledged record military spending to attract troops to fight in the war, but also as part of a long-term policy to beef up the Russian armed forces.

wait… you mean… again?
But the Rusbots would have us believe that Muscovy is close to winning the war.
If this is true then Russia is inches from losing control of its army. The entire way they’ve run the war is highly mercenary, and if pay is running out then it would suggest other stuff is also close to running out. 3 months without pay would about be the end of it, thats exactly how the mutinies at the end of the USSR got started.
Especially as we’ve started seeing reports such as units in quiet sectors having most of their medical kit stripped out. Its wildly apparent Russia is virtually out of resources.
Lower wages, increase beatings, problem solved!
This is only one region, Yakutia, which has less than 1% of russia’s population, so don’t get TOO excited. It could be the first crack of a bigger break, but it might also just be an isolated case of local money mismanagement.
Unfortunately that is only a single Oblast. How does this translate to other regions? Does every Oblast have an isolated budget? I don’t want to get my hopes up too high.
Newsweek needs to be banned as a source here ASAP. Yakutia has cut enlistment bonuses is vastly different than „Russia has run out of money“. Level of lying is about the same as RT or Newsmax – just because it goes in a direction that we like doesn’t make it OK.
I’m sure that American prick will pay them instead.
Perhaps someone bought a new yacht with that money? Anyway this is only one region, not whole Russia. Newsweek just isn’t able to write a title that isn’t misleading and should therefore be banned, unless the objective is to fill this sub with propaganda?
