The progress China has made in the past 50 years is nothing short of astounding. Similar to the US in the first half of the 20th century.
Good for them. They are a legitimate superpower and still making incredible strides.

The US system considers it necessary to hold poverty over the heads of the middle class to keep them compliant
And it works, as the populace mostly continues to accept worse actions from the oligarchy in fear of losing what little security they are allowed to have

Anyone want to research all the shitty things China had to do to get there?
Meanwhile, the USA could be Norway and we choose not to without doing all the shitty things China had to do.
(Plot twist- we already did the shitty things. Slavery also definitely pulled a lot of people out of poverty.)

The US brought millions out of poverty the last time we actually had liberals in charge. FDR,Truman, Ike,Kennedy, LBJ. But since Reagan there’s been a war on the middle class

I’m not particularly fond of the Chinese government because of their surveillance state, IP theft, etc. but they’ve become an economic powerhouse in the last few decades. And Trump is ceding even more ground on the world stage because of his stupidity and the alienation of all of our allies.

As someone from an ethnic Chinese heritage, who heard family stories of terrible famines and catastrophic floods that killed many relatives in the past, the change in quality of life for the ordinary Chinese person over the last 50 years has been extraodonary. No, my distant relatives who still live there don’t enjoy the democratic and social freedoms my immediate family now has, but compared to the oppression and horrors they experienced under millenia of the imperial Chinese system and then the brutally violent Japanese occupation last century, it is a miraculous change for the better. Before, it was violence, oppression and fear coupled with starvation, illiteracy, exploitation by warlords/crime gangs and catastrophic natural disasters. Now there is still some fear and political oppression but a much more secure standard of living, education and healthcare, and much better flood prevention. Also, the last 80 years have seen one of the longest periods without civil or external war in thousands of years of Chinese history. I would love to see China evolve further into a more free and democratic society, but not if that „freedom“ unwinds the enormous social progress that has been made.

We hate the US, but praise China? What kind of CCP propaganda is this? People will illegally come to the US cause it is the land of opportunity, I don’t see that happening in China.

It’s quite unfortunate but not unexpected to see the knee-jerk negative reactions to what is one of the greatest achievements in modern history. This should be celebrated as a win for humanity. We should, in the US, instead of getting weirdly and reflexively defensive about our very real failure to lift people out of poverty, strive to do better and deliver for people. We should learn from what China did and the targeted actions their government took to eradicate homelessness. No one should be homeless in the richest country on Earth in the year 2025.

You can’t blame the US for not lifting millions from extreme poverty when it did not even have millions in extreme poverty in the first place.

China also has enslaved 1 million+ Uyghurs, an indigenous peoples to Xinjiang. They have them in „reeducation“ camps and are likely using them for slave labor. That could definitely be of benefit to your economy…….

So, we’re on China’s nuts now? Aren’t they still imprisoning Uyghurs and suppressing/imprisoning democratic opposition? You know, just because we’re going through fucked up shit in America, it doesn’t mean the rest of the world gets a pass. It’s always been this way, which is why we have people pretending China is somehow tihis amazing democracy all of a sudden.
I’ll say the same about South Korea. They are bought, owned and paid for by chaebols (oligarchs). It’s like seeing a preview of where America will be this time next year and people still think everywhere but the US is the land of make believe. Its clearly not just MAGA who are being brainwashed by the NWO.
