      Wild to pretend that any of the Canadian accents within our diaspora would mark anyone as an outsider. If anything, they mark one as being truly Canadian.

This guy is fully Acadian in all the ways that matter: he’s immersed himself culturally to the extent that his whole world is basically in French, he has a genuine affinity with our Acadian nation and even goes above and beyond by committing himself to Acadian causes. He is Acadian, end of story.

      I don’t care that his first language is English. I don’t care that his nearest Acadian ancestor is a great-great-grandmother who got unfortunately assimilated, which ensured the loss of Acadian culture in the following generations of his family. I don’t give a damn about his accent.
