The implication being, of course, that if you are an Anglophone who lives in Quebec and loves Quebec, but just want to be able to speak and receive services in one of Canada’s official languages, you aren’t a *real* Quebecer.
A lot of weird selective quoting going on, on both sides here.
I guess you can just chalk it up to clumsy language on Plamondon’s part, but he literally says „why would anglophones not be Quebecer’s and vote in their best interests“ (meaning vote for his party).
He later says „I hope I will convince anglophones to be a 100 per cent Quebecers. Because the fact is they are.“.
So the most generous interpretation seems to be that anglophones are *technically* Quebecers in his eyes, but until they start acting like it (voting for his party) he doesn’t consider them to be acting like true Quebecers.
Woof.
