The tankies and American communists will be coming any moment now to deny this atrocity.

I’m not trying to deny the victims of holodomor in Ukraine, I just want to add into the conversation and mention that Kazakhstan was also heavily damaged by famine around the same time. Many people know about the holodomor in Ukraine, but less people are aware of the Kazakh famine.
Around 2 million people died there between 1930 and 1933, which back then consisted of about one third of Kazakhstan. The people most affected were the nomadic herders who weren’t used to or fond of collectivisation. The ethnic Kazakh population dropped from two thirds to less than half of the population of Kazakhstan, while the population of Russians went up (at least percentage wise)

My grand-grandmother starved to death in 1932. All because russian bolsheviks encircled her village and took away all the harvest by force. And there were millions of victims like her.
