We’re getting to the point where it may be better to turn everything off and put it up on the shelf. Or in a deep hole.

They could just check if I’ve got an incognito tab open

What motion data are they using? AFAIK ChatGPT app doesn’t require permission for motion data like fitness does.

Didn’t know LLMs could use motion data…

Don’t see why you’d need LLMs for that if you have access to large enough movement data sample.

Specialized AI models will be able to deduce a ton of extremely private/sensitive information about people based on seemingly mundane data that they think is safe to share.
For example, eye tracking data alone can identify your gender, age, ethnicity, weight, drug habits, emotional state, personality traits, medical conditions…

All this time we thought they’d invested countless billions into collecting ALL data available on us for the purpose of serving ads we’d never click on and to prevent terrorist attacks which, not one, has ever been prevented as a result. No, it was an investment.
AI was always the end goal.

Why use an LLM for this? Come on guys.

I’m so excited for this new AI future where my phone knows I’m scooping buckets of water out of a poisoned stream because the datacenters have taken all the water and can tell I’m boiling it over an open fire because the datacenters took all the power, and they can use that info to serve me ads so I can buy more shit from the billionaires that caused this fucking disaster.

fun fact: scientists (particularly the ones at DARPA) can see what you’re doing in a similar fashion through wifi signal.

There was a spike in your heart rate last night. Were you at Club Aqua?

Damn, is that where all those “not lasting long enough in bed?” ads are coming from?

This isn’t a new finding, my Apple Watch has been able to detect whether I’m doing a workout and send me a prompt to record said workout for years now.

Emergent technology. Assigning AI with an outcome like “extract audio and motion data without explicitly extracting or sending audio or motion data packets over the network”…and it somehow does it. You can’t trace back how it did it. It just does.
Apple and every other tech company licking their chops knowing they can violate their data collection policies without “technically” violating them.

I’m so sick and tired of this AI and LLM crap.

Apple has been using classifiers to determine what you are doing from an accelerometer (and probably gyro) so has to record your workouts/activity.
But for the record, I wouldn’t call 40% accurate (the open ended results) as actually being able to tell what you’re doing. That’s getting real near the rates associated with guessing.

That’s cool I can do that too
