Habe heute einen spontanen Ausflug zum Schloß Marienburg geplant.

Nearly the same thing happened to me a couple of months ago. I’d planned and researched a trip (for my YouTube channel, not giving any spoilers) to a fascinating hundred-year-old technological marvel. I was just about to start booking train tickets and hotels, when I noticed a small note on a website about the technological marvel. Not a huge banner, just a little text that said: „Please note that this monument is currently closed for essential maintenance.“

„Essential maintenance“ in this case meaning, as I eventually found out, „It broke, and because this is the only technological marvel of its kind in the whole world, we have to get the spare parts specially made and we don’t know how long that will take.“

(It still hasn’t re-opened.)
