I guess for symbolism this is good. Trump is, of course, going nowhere but silence on the issue and complete apathy isn’t right either. At least it will be yet another black mark in the history books against him. Worst, most corrupt president in US history. And he’ll be dead and won’t be able to simply say „fake history.“ I think that actually bothers him a lot.

And a bad hangover for New Year’s Day when it doesn’t happen. Again.

    3. It’s about fucking time. Too many peoples lives have been ruined by this monster and his admin

    4. Why not wait until dems hopefully have the house in 26. Maybe the Senate. Pointless gesture.

    5. Then all we have to deal with is couch fucking puppet. Wonder if he’ll pardon the … wait… of course he will. Trump could afford the million dollar pardon fee.

    6. Why does anyone upvote this? Trump is not going to be successfully impeached and removed from office. And didn’t we figure out last time that it only RAISES his popularity?

    7. We need something more aggressive than impeachment, it clearly did nothing the previous two times.

      (Rubbing temples) not this again…

When, oh when, will people understand that impeachment doesn’t actually do anything unless the senate will vote to convict, which is impossible?

Every time we trot out impeachment, it waters it down. They’re making impeachments into a regular, boring, and routine political process that’ll kind of fade into the background noise of governmental procedure. It’s pretty much happened already. Mention ‚impeachment‘ to any normal person and you’ll likely hear, „oh, they’re doing that again?“

If any of you thinks that the senate will get anywhere even remotely close to a 2/3 majority on impeaching a president, you are so out of your mind its in another galaxy.

It doesn’t matter unless they remove him from office and he goes to prison.  They’ve impeached him before.

Remove him, lock him up, put a gag order on him, and let him disappear into obscurity.

Republicans could get rid of this “problem” so easily. If they are looking for a way out they have it.

Our system only works when everyone believes in the rule of law. Allowing anyone to abuse the system and walk all over it like he is, is a fast way to fascism. If people loose faith in the system’s ability to hold people accountable, he wins. Nothing would be the same again.

The article didn’t really say, unless I missed it. What’s he getting impeached for? Which of the many many many impeachable offenses?

    13. Whicked_Subie on

He’s already been impeached multiple times. How will this be any different?

    14. jarvisesdios on

While… That’s just not going to happen, that could force Trump to open up files and transactions that he really really doesn’t want the public to know.

Even though anybody paying attention knows he’s literally taking bribes openly. It’s absolutely fucking insane so many people don’t see it. He’s not even trying to hide it.

    15. „Given that Republicans hold a majority in the House of Representatives, it is unlikely that an impeachment effort would be successful.“ From the article.

Vote ALL Republicans out of our government. They don’t want the government to work for working people. If they are in charge it will not.

ITT: people who don’t know how impeachment works and/or didn’t read the article.

Democrat Al Green is introducing articles. It’s exceedingly unlikely anything comes of them as Democrats are in the minority. That’s it.

Trump has committed countless impeachable offenses and obviously should have been convicted in the Senate for J6. But this filing of articles of impeachment that can’t stick is undermining the whole impeachment process and feeding his victim narrative. Just wait until he could actually be impeached — likely over a Jeffrey Epstein revelation.

    18. Chess move before the midterms.

„They could have removed a pedophile from office and they voted not to“

      X: Doubt. Republicans would never.

Again, if he faces any actual consequences I’ll lick white dog shit and post the video.

If Trump isn’t impeached, tried, and convicted with all he’s done we need Nuremberg trials for every republican elected and appointed member of our government

He was impeached twice last time and nothing happened. I’ve completely lost faith in whatever impeachment was supposed to symbolize.

    22. Treacle-Bright on

Impeached? He just called for the deaths of fellow lawmakers. He should be removed from office – now! There is nothing more un-American!!

I mean, seriously, there’s a few (/s) pages of felonies, and a few hundred of treasonous charges that need to be levied here.
